Today, Andhra Pradesh’s longest serving chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu celebrates his 66th birthday.TDP cadre and yellow brothers are celebrating Babu’s birthday by donating blood and distributing water and buttermilk to the poor people across the state. Babu’s dear friend and his 2014 poll partner prime minister Narendra Modi wished Babu a long life and lauded Babu’s passion to bring AP on the path of development.
Ever since Babu took oath as the CM of the deficit-hit residual Andhra Pradesh in 2014, he has been facing numerous challenges to implement various developmental schemes, fulfill his poll promises and even in convincing the centre for special status to the state and additional funds for Amaravati construction and several long-pending projects across the state.
In the process, Babu has faced severe criticism from the opposition and also the common people for failing to act as expected of him in numerous cases. Pattiseema project, attracting globally and nationally reputed companies to invest in various cities and two-tier towns in the state partnering with Singapore and Japan with a mission to build Amaravati as a world class capital are some of Babu’s achievements in his two year tenure.
Amidst the widespread accusations of being and underwhelming performer as a CM compared to his rule in the early 2000s, Babu will have a major hindrance in the form of Kapu reservation issue and the anti incumbency which is slowly seeping in the minds of the people in his run up to the 2019 elections.
