The cult blockbuster Baby has carved a special place in Indian cinema, earning widespread acclaim and a string of prestigious awards that have cemented its status as a modern classic. Now, the film has reached a new pinnacle of recognition by bagging two major honors at the 71st National Film Awards (2023).
Starring Anand Deverakonda, Viraj Ashwin, and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, Baby won Best Screenplay Writer for Sai Rajesh, whose emotionally rich storytelling resonated deeply with audiences, and Best Playback Singer (Male) for PVNS Rohit, for his soulful rendition of the hit song Premisthunna. Beyond its box-office triumph with collections surpassing ₹100 crore, Baby swept multiple awards across platforms such as GAMA and SIIMA. A Hindi remake of the film is currently in development.
