In the age when actresses are opening up about the alleged ‘Casting Couch’ issue that is prevalent in the film industry, an MP of Kerala has stirred a huge controversy by saying that ‘bad’ actresses may share ‘bed’ at will.
When asked about the existence of casting couch in the Malayalam film industry, the President of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) and sitting MP, Innocent Vareed Thekkethala allegedly said that times are gone when actresses used to either surrender themselves or deny the sexual flavors but don’t reveal those bitter experiences in open.
‘Actresses of this generation won’t think for a second to expose in front of media and public if someone makes inappropriate requests. The ‘bad’ actresses on the other hand, may share the ‘bed’ with their consent. No one can force any present day actress to do something she doesn’t want,” he added.
Innocent’s comments have received backlash from Malayalam film fraternity. He is being ridiculed on social media and by national media for making such ‘sexist’ remarks.
