The Kingdom of Bahrain will temporarily suspend routine government operations next week to observe two significant national occasions. Citizens and residents will have dedicated days to celebrate the country’s heritage, leadership, and progress, as confirmed by the government’s official public holiday announcement.
A circular issued by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, states that all ministries, public bodies, and government institutions will remain closed on Tuesday, December 16, and Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The directive applies to all state-run entities, ensuring uniform observance of the holidays across the Kingdom.
These days mark Bahrain’s National Day and the Accession Day of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. National Day celebrates the nation’s milestones, development, and the unity of its people, while Accession Day commemorates King Hamad’s ascension to the throne and the progress achieved under his leadership. Together, these back-to-back holidays highlight national pride and the strong bond between Bahrain’s leadership and its citizens.
Residents are advised to plan accordingly, as all public offices will be closed. Essential services may operate on adjusted schedules, so individuals should check with the relevant departments for updates. These two days provide Bahrainis and expatriates alike an opportunity to participate in celebrations, community events, and reflections on the nation’s achievements while looking toward future growth.
