
Senior Telugu actor and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna was recently honoured by the prestigious World Book of Records, London, for completing 50 remarkable years in the film industry. The felicitation ceremony took place in Hyderabad on Saturday evening.
Balakrishna, a Padma Bhushan awardee, has been included in the Gold Edition of the World Book of Records in recognition of his outstanding contributions to cinema and his philanthropic work, particularly through the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute.
Speaking to the media and fans after the ceremony, Balayya showcased his generosity once again by announcing a donation of Rs 50 lakhs to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the rehabilitation of flood victims in districts including Kamareddy and Jagitial. He becomes the first Tollywood star to contribute specifically to the Telangana flood relief efforts.
On the cinematic front, Balakrishna is set to appear in the much-anticipated action drama Akhanda 2: Thaandavan, directed by Boyapati Sreenu. The film’s release date has yet to be officially announced.
