Celebrating a remarkable 50 years in cinema, “God of Masses” Nandamuri Balakrishna continues to receive prestigious recognitions for his contribution to Indian cinema. After recently being conferred the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India for his contribution to the arts, the veteran actor has now been chosen as the first recipient of the NTR National Award, newly instituted by the Telangana Government as part of the grand Gaddar Awards to honor excellence in Telugu cinema.
Expressing his gratitude, Balakrishna thanked the Telangana Government for bestowing him with this special honor. He shared that receiving the award during his legendary father Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s centenary celebrations makes the moment even more meaningful. Adding to the occasion, he also acknowledged the 75-year milestone of another iconic actor, Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR).
Balakrishna conveyed heartfelt thanks to Telugu audiences for their unwavering love and support over the decades. He pledged to continue entertaining fans with many more memorable films and blockbusters in the future, remaining forever indebted to the people who made his journey possible.
