Balayya witnesses Rayalaseema heat!

Hindupur assembly constituency in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, considered to be the bastion of the Telugu Desam Party in general and family of party founder N T Rama Rao in particular, revolted for the first time against the family and the party.

On Thursday, NTR’s son and local MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna had to witness the ire of the people in Hindupur for opposing the three capitals plan of the YSR Congress party government which proposed to set up the state high court in Rayalaseema.

A large number of people, of course led by local YSR Congress party leaders, waylaid Balakrishna while he was on his way to the constituency as part of his one-day tour.

Tension prevailed at Rahatmatapuram Circle in Hindupur, where the YSRC activists raised “Go Back Balayya” slogans and prevented him from entering the town.

The YSRC workers said Balakrishna had no right to enter Rayalaseema, as his party was opposing the three capitals plan. However, they were confronted by Balayya fans and the local TDP activists who gathered there in big numbers.

The police had a tough time in controlling the agitating mob from both the sides. They arrested the protesters from both the sides and took them to the police station. The district authorities deployed police forces in big numbers in Hindupur.
