Balayya’s Team Falling Behind ‘Veerayya’ In That Aspect!

The Sankranti race is getting a lot of spicier. Two senior heroes Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi are going head-to-head during this season and the dubbing film ‘Varasudu’ is also arriving at the same time. While there are few small films aiming to hit the screens during this period, the entire focus is currently on Megastar and Balakrishna’s movies. Chiranjeevi is all set to hit the screens on 13th January with ‘Waltair Veerayya’ while Balakrishna is making an entrance with mass entertainer ‘Veera Simha Reddy’.

Both these movies were bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers and Shruti Hassan is the heroine in these flicks. This is the first time where we see the same heroine in two films that are locking horns with each other. Also, this is the first time, Balayya and Chiru are competing at the box office after a gap of 8 years. Mythri team are making sure that the promotions of both these movies are done on an equal note. Posters, intro songs, romantic songs, teasers and everything are releasing one after the other. But Chiru’s ‘Waltair Veerayya’ team is a bit ahead of ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ team in terms of digital promotions.

Sources say that Chiru’s personal team is quite active and is making sure that every update regarding the movie is going viral on the internet. The same cannot be said about Balayya’s team. Reports suggest that Mega fans had a meeting with the makers and discussed about the promotional strategies of the movie. Apart from that, Mega fans have the support of Ravi Teja fans as well because their hero is playing a crucial part in the movie. This is why the updates of ‘Waltair Veerayya’ are going viral on social media.

Fans of Balakrishna are not able to create the same kind of hype on social media. People are commenting that Balayya’s film is falling back in the race. We need to wait and see how the makers respond to it.

Venkatesh is currently experiencing an exceptional phase in his career, riding the wave of back-to-back Sankranthi successes. His 2025 festive release, Sankranthiki Vastunnam, emerged as a major hit, reconnecting him strongly with family audiences. This momentum carried over into Sankranthi 2026 with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, where even a limited role created significant buzz.

These consecutive holiday hits have firmly re-established Venkatesh as one of the most dependable stars for festival releases. His winning streak has also had a direct impact on his remuneration. Before Sankranthiki Vastunnam, he was reportedly charging around ₹10 crore per film. However, for Trivikram Srinivas’ Aadarsha Kutumbam House No:47, he commanded a substantially higher fee of ₹20 crore, marking a major jump.

Interestingly, for his guest appearance in Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Venkatesh charged ₹15 crore, reflecting how his Sankranthi successes have significantly boosted his market value and demand.
