Karnataka film and TV industry had banned dubbed content in to their state alleging that they are actually killing the local industry. However Competition Commission of India had found fault with this decision and had imposed fines on Kannada film Chamber, TV and Producers Association.
With immediate effect, the ban of dubbing films will be lifted in Karnataka. Unless or until, these parties move to the court and obtain a stay on the order of Competition Commission of India. This move will open new business avenues for other language films especially Telugu.
Kannada audience embrace Telugu films a lot, most of out star films there do better than the local films. There are some instances our films get more theaters than local star films when released together.
