Even before the state could come out of the terror unleashed during the Kapu Aikya Garjana agitation called by the former MP Mudragada Padmanabham demanding Kapus’ inclusion in BCs, ongoing heat suggests even more intense days for the Chandrababu government and the common people.
Today, as many as 25 BC community leaders formed a BC Joint Action Committee in Vijayawada and warned the government against passing the GO including Kapus in BCs, succumbing to the Kapu demands. The BC leaders stated that they will call for statewide agitations if Kapus are included in BCs.
Clarifying that they are not against the welfare of Kapus or any other communities, the BC leaders said that Kapus in the state are financially well settled and that they need no reservations.
The agitating BC leaders go on questioning the Kapus if they ever faced social injustice and discrimination like the BCs did. “What decades long atrocities did they face to claim they are a socially backward caste?,” said a BC leader.
The BC leaders further said that there are financially backward people in several communities like Kamma, Kshatriya, Brahmin, Reddy, including Kapus and that the government should form a commission to empower the financially backward people in all communities, without jeopardising up the BC reservations.
