Bellamkonda Srinivas, one of Telugu cinema’s talented young actors known for his candid nature, has expressed his views regarding the upcoming box office clash with Teja Sajja’s Mirai.
Srinivas revealed that the team behind his film, Kishkindhapuri, had initially confirmed a theatrical release on September 12, leaving no room for confusion. However, the makers of Mirai, after postponing their film from September 5, unexpectedly announced a release on the same date—without prior intimation or consultation with the Kishkindhapuri team.
In the Telugu film industry, it is common for leading actors and big-budget productions to plan solo releases. Dates are strategically finalized well in advance to ensure proper promotion and optimal audience reach. Following this standard, the Kishkindhapuri team had locked September 12 for release, assuming a one-week gap from Mirai’s original schedule of September 5 would allow both films to perform without interference.
With the sudden rescheduling of Mirai to September 12, a direct box office clash has now become inevitable. Srinivas’ statement indicates that he is not entirely pleased with this last-minute change, which may impact the planned release strategy for his film.
This development sets the stage for a high-stakes weekend at the Telugu box office, with audiences eagerly anticipating the clash between two major releases.
