BJP patriarch-former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is soon going to be honoured with India’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna. The Narendra Modi-led government is contemplating to honour the astute politician, diplomat, poet, statesman and multi-faceted person. According to widely-circulated reports, PM Modi is going to make a formal statement on Vajpayee’s 90th birthday i.e., Dec 25, 2014.
There has been a great demand for Bharat Ratna for AB Vajpayee who served as the first BJP Prime Minister. Besides BJP’s top brass, several politicians from other political parties too expressed their support in honouring veteran politician with Bharat Ratna. Although everyone thought that Modi would make an announcement on Aug 15 on the eve of Independence Day, he didn’t made any such statements.
But going by the strong buzz, Modi is expected to make an announcement on Dec 25. It is learnt that PM Modi is going to write to President Pranab on the same. However. it seems legendary NTR may not get Bharat Ratna this time as well despite a great demand from TDP. Let’s wait and see.
