In what is seen as the biggest ‘Faction’ compromise in the history of Andhra Pradesh, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu set new precedent by making ‘compromise’ between arch rivals Rama Subba Reddy and Adi Narayana Reddy of Jammalamadugu in Kadapa district. Usually, compromise and factionalism doesn’t fit into same sentence. However, proving it wrong, AP CM Chandrababu tactfully made an understanding between two rival groups thus taking many by surprise even within the party.
There had been a simmering factional feud between the families of Rama Subba Reddy and Adi Narayana Reddy for over three decades. Rama Subba Reddy had contested from TDP against YSRCP candidate Adi Narayana Reddy in 2014 general elections and lost to the latter. The duo had always waged war against each other. But with change of recent political scenario, Adi Narayana Reddy had quit YSRCP and joined TDP and naturally this added fuel to their ongoing feud.
Averting any damage to party due to their rivalry, ‘alert’ Naidu stepped in and summoned the both leaders to his office. Chandrababu convinced them to leave their past behind and asked them to work for party. Soon after the meeting with Naidu, Adi Narayan Reddy briefed press where he announced to work with Rama Subba Reddy for strengthening the party.
Thus with his tactics, Naidu yet again proved the popular adage – There’re no permanent friends or foes in politics. Even the people of Jammalamadugu are heaving a sigh and all praise for Naidu for resolving faction feud in the town. Well done, Naidu.
