Supriya Yarlagadda Gets Emotional Over Dacoit Journey

Producer Supriya Yarlagadda has poured her heart into her maiden production Dacoit, working on it for nearly two years. A key member of Annapurna Studios and the esteemed Akkineni family, Supriya had often been in the news—but it was during the film’s pre-release event that her emotional side truly came to the forefront.

She revealed that she wanted to capture her family’s legacy and journey through the logo of their production house, SS Creations, in just 15 seconds. However, it took nearly two years to finalize it. While speaking about the deep meaning behind it, she became emotional, reflecting on the memories attached to it.

Supriya shared that the logo represents symbolic elements like Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s panche, Annapurnamma’s kumkum, her daughter being guided by her grandfather, and her father Daggubati Surendra’s favorite tune from Gayam—all of which beautifully sum up their family’s cinematic legacy.

Adding a lighter touch, she joked that Sumanth is the “silent S” in SS Creations, while she is the “violent S,” drawing smiles from the audience. She also expressed her long-standing desire to revive their banner and live up to her father’s legacy, calling Dacoit a proud re-launch for their production house.

The film, written by Adivi Sesh along with director Shaneil Deo, features Sesh in the lead role alongside Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap in prominent roles. With strong emotional backing and growing buzz, Dacoit is all set for a worldwide release on April 10.
