In a shocking development, BJP CM candidate in Delhi elections Kiran Bedi has lost in Krishna Nagar constituency. Ms Bedi, first lady IPS officer in the country, lost by 1150 votes. Bedi has lost to AAP’s landslide victory.
Although Krishna Nagar constituency is considered as safe bet as BJP holds sway in the constituency, Kiran Bedi losing election has stunned many including political pundits. AAP candidate SK Bagga beaten Ms Bedi in BJP’s bastion.
BJP has been favourite in Krishna Nagar since 1993 with senior party leader Harsh Vardhan winning the seat five consecutive times. In the December 2013 polls, Harsh Vardhan had won the constituency by a margin of 43,150 votes.
