Bobby Deol’s Aurangzeb Gets a Fierce Makeover in HHVM

Bobby Deol is set to portray the iconic Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated period drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu, directed by Jyothi Krishna. While Bobby had initially completed a few scenes for the film, a major shift occurred after the director witnessed the actor’s hauntingly powerful performance in Animal.

“Bobby garu’s performance in Animal was truly spellbinding,” shared Jyothi Krishna. “The way he conveyed deep emotions purely through expressions, despite having minimal dialogues, left a lasting impact on all of us. It made me rethink his character entirely in our film.”

Inspired by this, the director decided to reimagine Aurangzeb’s role—rewriting the character’s arc and offering Bobby Deol a far more layered and intense portrayal. The makeover included significant changes to the character’s backstory, motivation, emotional depth, and physical presence, all designed to amplify the performance and do justice to Bobby’s evolved screen image.

“When I narrated the reworked version, Bobby garu was thrilled,” Jyothi Krishna added. “He’s an actor who constantly looks to reinvent himself, and this role gave him the perfect platform to explore new dimensions. In Hari Hara Veera Mallu, he comes across as intense, dignified, and powerfully silent—his eyes speak more than words. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with him.”

This renewed approach not only adds gravitas to Aurangzeb’s character but also leverages Bobby Deol’s current stature, promising audiences a compelling on-screen presence that blends menace with royal charisma.
