Border 2, one of the highly anticipated Hindi films, is all set for a grand release tomorrow. However, ahead of its release, reports have emerged that the film has been banned in several Gulf countries.
Following the recent ban on Dhurandhar, another Bollywood biggie is facing similar restrictions. According to sources, Border 2 will not be released in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Movies perceived as having “anti-Pakistan” content typically face restrictions in this region. Despite the filmmakers’ attempts to secure a release in the Gulf, the results were unsatisfactory.
This ban is expected to impact the film’s overseas box-office collections, as Bollywood movies usually perform strongly in the Gulf. The setback could affect revenue, especially since Dhurandhar reportedly lost close to ₹90 crore in the Gulf alone.
Despite this challenge, anticipation for Border 2 remains high in India. The film revolves around young Indian fighters defending their homeland during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, promising action-packed sequences and patriotic themes.
