Despite producing critically acclaimed films like 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu, Srujan continues to work a full-time IT job in the United States. In a recent interview with manatelugu, he opened up about balancing his professional career with his passion for cinema and the lessons he has learned along the way.

Following the release of 35, the film earned widespread appreciation from critics and the media, marking a proud milestone for Srujan. However, he clarified that success did not instantly simplify his journey. He revealed that OTT platforms often prioritize established production houses, though the strong reception of 35 helped him gain direct access to major platforms like Amazon for future discussions.

One of the most interesting aspects of Srujan’s filmmaking process is how seriously he values audience feedback. Before finalizing a film, he conducts multiple test screenings for diverse groups—including college students, working professionals, and even auto drivers. Their responses play a crucial role in shaping the final cut. In fact, for his upcoming projects, several portions were re-edited and even re-shot based on this feedback to strengthen the second half of the films.

When it comes to financing, Srujan follows a cautious and practical approach. He avoids high-interest loans and instead collaborates with small investors from the US while partnering with trusted production houses. Beyond filmmaking, he is also keen on mentoring aspiring filmmakers. As part of this effort, he is preparing a detailed “Black Book” and an extensive vlog series that documents the complete planning process of his latest film, offering film students a realistic and hands-on understanding of movie production from start to finish.

Looking ahead, Srujan has an exciting lineup. One of his upcoming projects is a high-energy Hyderabadi comedy, while another is a VFX-heavy film featuring nearly thirty minutes of visual effects, expected to release in the second half of 2026. Meanwhile, his latest production Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi is all set to hit theatres on January 30.
