BRS to Boycott ABN Andhra Jyothi Permanently

Share

The BRS ecosystem has historically had a strained relationship with ABN Andhra Jyothi, dating back to when KCR, during his tenure as Chief Minister, reportedly tried to suppress the channel over a controversial news story. Since then, the interactions between the party and the media house have been a mix of confrontation and cautious engagement.

The situation has now reached a critical point, as the BRS has announced a complete boycott of ABN Andhra Jyothi.

This decision comes in the aftermath of a recent controversial debate on the ABN channel, during which a verbal altercation occurred between BRS MLC Takkallapalli Ravindra Rao and ABN anchor Venkata Krishna. The argument escalated to the point where Krishna reportedly told the BRS leader, “Get out from the channel.”

Feeling insulted, the BRS high command has decided to sever ties with ABN Andhra Jyothi. They announced that the party will not participate in any future coverage by the channel and will also refrain from inviting ABN representatives to press conferences going forward. This marks a significant intensification in the ongoing tensions between the political party and the media outlet.
