When two big movies are clashing the same day at the box office, will the buyers still dump huge loads of money in producer’s pockets to own that film? Not only it will be tough to recover that investment in a short period, but also the total investment will be in danger if one of them makes audiences read vedantam inside theatres.
An interesting thing has happened now with a couple of buyers, as they have respectively bought the rights of Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo for two different regions. The buyer of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo for the Uttarandhra region is said to have got a written agreement that there will be no clash with Sarileru Neekevvaru, after which he is said to have paid a bomb to own the rights. And Sarileru Neekevvaru makers are also said to be giving similar assurances to distributors.
Though Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru are right now announced for January 12th release, it looks like one of them will definitely change the date or both of them might move to new spots. As buyers are putting huge bets on these two movies, averting clash is the only option for the producers.
