When news broke that Pawan Kalyan was teaming up with director Krish for Hari Hara Veera Mallu, it sparked huge excitement among fans and Telugu cinema lovers. The teaser only fueled that buzz further. However, after numerous delays and changes, the film—now directed by Jyothi Krishna—is finally inching toward release this month. Despite this, the buzz remains lukewarm.
In star-driven films, the director’s vision plays a major role. In the past, movies like Vakeel Saab and Bheemla Nayak gained traction in part due to the fans’ faith in directors Venu Sriram and Sagar Chandra to present Pawan in a powerful way. But this time, with Jyothi Krishna at the helm, fans seem uncertain about the outcome—even after the trailer’s release.
Many Pawan Kalyan fans feel he hasn’t fully leveraged his star power since his return to films. His recent projects, including remakes like Vakeel Saab, Bheemla Nayak, and Bro, received mixed reactions. While some generated strong hype, they also left fans wanting original stories. Now that Pawan is serving as the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh, promotional duties for HHVM have shifted to the director and producers.
The recently released trailer received a neutral response—not disappointing, but not electrifying either. With Pawan stepping back from promotions, the responsibility to energize fans falls on the director. Unfortunately, Jyothi Krishna, known for lackluster outings like Rules Ranjan, hasn’t inspired much confidence yet.
Still, producer AM Rathnam is actively pushing the film, and the team is banking on Pawan’s enduring star power to draw audiences. With a planned release on July 24, all eyes are on whether Hari Hara Veera Mallu can rise above its challenges and deliver a box office success.
