Hours after the report of GN Rao committee got hold of the media that Vizag is not suitable place for the capital of AP, GN Rao himself came before the media and issued a clarification.
Adding twist to the tale, GN Rao said, Vizag is an ideal choice for Executive Capital of the state but suggested that the capital should be established about 50 kilometres far from the sea shore.
Speaking further he said, “We only made recommendations in our report and ultimately it is the government which took a decision. We suggested the government to set up Vizag Metropolitan Region and under this, government offices should be placed. Vizag and Chennai corridor will be huge benefit for the state.”
Reiterating that ‘Three Capitals’ idea, GN Rao said it is unfortunate that media is falsely quoting the committee report and urged media not to create confusion among the people of AP.
