Sparking a fresh controversy against the much controversial “Kathhi” that is facing troubles since its inception, leading political party DMK has now filed a defamation suit against hero Vijay, director AR Murugadoss and production house Lyca Productions.
A petitioner on behalf of the party claimed that Vijay and his men insulted DMK’s leading leaders by making references to the yet to be settled ‘2G Scam’. It is known that a couple of top brass from DMK including former ministers Karunandhi’s Kanimozhi and ex-minister A Raja’s names are heard in the infamous 2G scam that took place during UPA regime.
As Vijay utters a dialogue in the movie “If 2G scam is proved it court..”, the petitioner felt that it insults Indian Judiciary too and demanded strict action against the three. Released as Diwali treat on 22 October, Kaththi is breaking records in Tamilnadu by amassing nearly 23.45 crores on first day itself across the globe.
Approximately 36 crores was raked in at first weekend in Kollywood alone, while overseas market might contribute 10+crores easily. Before release, it was accused that Kaththi producers have links with SriLanka president and now this fresh trouble erupted.
