Chai Bisket, a leading name in digital entertainment, has unveiled Chai Shots—India’s first OTT platform dedicated entirely to regional short-series in a vertical video format, crafted especially for smartphone users.
Designed for quick consumption, Chai Shots offers under-two-minute episodes, perfect for chai breaks, travel time, or any brief moment in the day.
The platform is backed by Info Edge Ventures and General Catalyst, early investors in global and Indian giants like Zomato, Policybazaar, Airbnb, Canva, CRED, and Zepto. With such strong support, Chai Shots aims to reshape India’s entertainment habits by introducing curated, high-quality short storytelling instead of endless scrolling.
In a pioneering initiative, Chai Shots announced a ₹20 crore creator fund to support 200 emerging creators, offering them a powerful launchpad in the fast-growing vertical-format storytelling space. This opens a massive opportunity for new talents to reach millions of mobile-first viewers.
The platform was launched at a grand event attended by Rana Daggubati, Mythri Ravi, and top investors. Praising the innovation, Rana called Chai Shots’ founders “true disruptors” in Telugu digital entertainment.
Chai Shots debuts with 75+ original shows across romance, crime, horror, and thriller genres. While it starts with Telugu content, Hindi and Tamil series are already in development.
With its bold vision, the company aims to make Hyderabad a central hub for India’s next wave of entertainment innovation.
