Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, recently expressed displeasure over the remarks made by Minister TG Bharat at the European Telugu Diaspora event in Zurich. Bharat had claimed that Nara Lokesh would be the “future Chief Minister,” a statement that irked Chandrababu, considering the sensitivities surrounding the coalition government.
After the event, Chandrababu reportedly reprimanded Bharat for his overenthusiastic comments, emphasizing that such statements were inappropriate at this time. He reminded his ministers, “We are here to attract investments for the state, not to discuss political positions. Do you understand the implications of your words?” Bharat’s comments, declaring Lokesh as the next leader, had sparked controversy, especially as just days before, party members had advocated for Lokesh to be appointed as Deputy CM — a suggestion that Chandrababu had firmly opposed.
To ensure that no further such incidents occur, Chandrababu warned TG Bharat to be more cautious with his public statements in the future.
