Was this Chandrababu’s last Cabinet meeting?

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a cabinet meeting, which is the last cabinet meeting for this term, on Tuesday to review the drinking water crisis in the state and drought conditions. The meeting was held a day after the Election Commission gave a green signal to the government.

This Cabinet meeting assumes significance as it could be the last meeting of Chandrababu as the CM if his party loses in the elections. However, if he wins, he will get back to his marathon Cabinet meetings. Interestingly, the Cabinet meeting also saw the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary L.V. Subrahmanyam exchange greetings despite a tussle going on between them from the last few days.

The meeting went on for two-hours which discussed on the steps being taken by the government to mitigate drinking water crisis in the state, especially in Rayalaseema. The extent damage caused due to Cyclone Fani also was discussed at the meeting. However, there was no media briefing following the Cabinet meet.

At the end of the meeting, the Chief Minister had thanked all the officials for cooperating and giving their best in the last five years under the TDP government and hoped that he would get the opportunity to work again with them. Apparently, after the meeting, many officials were seen discussing whether Chandrababu will retain power or will be replaced by a new Chief Minister!
