Megastar Chiranjeevi has finally responded to the comments made by Nandamuri Balakrishna in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, which sparked widespread debate in both the film industry and political circles. In a press note issued from abroad, Chiranjeevi clarified the true circumstances behind his meeting with then-Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Chiranjeevi explained that after repeated appeals from actors, producers, and directors, he chose to take the initiative to mediate with the state government. He noted that Minister Perni Nani personally connected him with the Chief Minister’s office, which extended an invitation for lunch. During this meeting, Chiranjeevi raised concerns about the challenges filmmakers were facing, particularly the tension between rising production costs and restricted ticket prices.

He further elaborated that when the delegation was being organized to meet the CM, he personally tried to reach out to Balakrishna. However, after multiple unsuccessful attempts, including through producer Gemini Kiran, Balakrishna was unable to join the team. Chiranjeevi then coordinated with R Narayana Murthy and other industry representatives to proceed with the meeting with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other officials.

Highlighting the outcome, Chiranjeevi stated that his initiative contributed to the government approving a ticket price hike, which benefited producers, distributors, and exhibitors alike. This decision played a crucial role in ensuring better box office collections for major releases, including his own films Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy.

Rejecting any suggestions of political pressure or personal gain, Chiranjeevi emphasized that his actions were motivated solely by the welfare of the Telugu film industry and the collective interests of all stakeholders.
