More than a decade after stepping away from active politics, megastar and former Union Minister Chiranjeevi remains a beloved figure in the film industry and among the public. Despite having completely distanced himself from politics, the actor revealed that he continues to be the target of political attacks — particularly on social media.
Speaking at a blood donation drive organized by the Phoenix Foundation, Chiranjeevi addressed the criticism he has faced over the years. “I have long left politics behind, yet some continue to hurl harsh and baseless comments at me. But I have never felt the need to respond,” he said.
Chiranjeevi noted that the social service he has rendered and the immense affection he has received from the people act as a shield against such negativity. “I believe that the good I have done will speak for me. There is no need for me to react — my work and the love from fans are my response,” he added.
He recalled an incident where a political leader made unwarranted remarks about him. But during a visit to a particular region, a woman emotionally confronted that leader, questioning why he criticized Chiranjeevi. The woman, it turned out, was someone whose child’s life had been saved by the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank. Her heartfelt words deeply moved Chiranjeevi.
“I found the video and later came to know more about her story. Her gratitude reminded me that genuine service creates lasting bonds. That’s why I never feel the urge to respond to hatred,” he said.
Interestingly, Chiranjeevi shared that after the woman’s emotional appeal, the politician never made another negative remark about him. “Even politicians have a heart. Maybe he spoke in anger, but once he got home, perhaps even his wife advised him not to repeat such words,” Chiranjeevi said with a smile.
Through his calm and composed response, Chiranjeevi reaffirmed his belief that dignity, service, and public goodwill ultimately silence criticism better than any rebuttal ever could.
