Remember the song from ‘Osey Ramulamma’ written by Legendary Director Dasari Narayana Rao? “Chowdary Garu, O Naidu Garu, Reddy Garu, O Raju Garu, Mee Peru Chivaralo aa Thokalenduku? Ee Ooru Chivarane Maa Pakalenduku?” This was an inspirational song written by Dasari in 1997 and he was appreciated for the strong and its bold content.
Now, coming to 2016, Dasari is busy supporting the Kapu Crusader Mudragada Padmanabham. In his own words, Dasari said, “We lost Ranga then and we won’t be losing Mudragada now”. What happened to all those inspirational dialogues and songs written by Dasari Narayana Rao in the past about equality among the people? What has changed now?
Right from the time Dasari and Chiru voiced their support to the Kapu movement, many people started to troll them and on Facebook and Twitter. Mainly, BCs are apprehensive about Kapu reservation since they lack a strong leadership and with no popular figure backing them. Also, many Teluguites love Dasari and Chiru outside their castes and they are all hurt with these two leaders lending their support to only their community.
Political analysts and even common people are saying that both Chiranjeevi and Dasari are playing the ‘KAPU’ card just to seek attention from Telugu people. “As of now, Congress Party leaders in Andhra Pradesh have got nothing to do and that is the reason why they are trying to create Law and Order problem in the newly-formed state”, said a political observer from Andhra region.
