CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of government officials being accountable and performing their duties with diligence. Speaking at the book release event of retired IAS officer Gopalakrishna’s memoir, ‘Life of a Karma Yogi – Memoir of a Civil Servant’, in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy expressed concern over officials who were reluctant to leave the comfort of AC rooms and engage with the public on the ground.

He highlighted that the more involved officials become in their work, the more effectively government welfare schemes will reach the beneficiaries. According to him, while leaders can create and design policies, it is the officials who work directly with the people to implement them at the grassroots level. He pointed out that officials who interact with the public leave a lasting impact, as they are the ones who ensure that the policies benefit those who need them the most.

Revanth Reddy also stressed that the knowledge and power enjoyed by officials should be utilized to help the underprivileged. He urged them to step out of their comfortable environments and witness firsthand the living conditions of the poor. He suggested that when officials visit the field, they can adapt and improve programs to better serve the community and ensure that government funds are used effectively. According to the CM, this approach will prevent wasteful spending and ensure that welfare programs benefit the intended recipients.
