The ongoing water war between AP and Telangana seems like it will not end in the near future. Taking the official Telangana formation day celebrations at parade grounds as a right platform, Telangana CM KCR fired a salvo against AP government over obstructing construction of irrigation projects in his own states.
KCR said he wanted to create one crore ayacut in Telangana by constructing all the pending projects. But the neighboring AP state conspired to halt the projects by not allowing utilization of water to Telangana from Krishna and Godavari. “We will complete all projects in time bound manner. Nobody will stop us.”
While AP CM Chandrababu Naidu speaking at Nava Nirmana Diksha in Vijayawada lambasted the Congress for the unjustified division of Andhra Pradesh. After the bifurcation of state, AP lost its rights to utilise its share of water as the upper riparian states are constructing illegal projects. His government would not sit calm if the states did not heed AP plea to stop projects. His government already sought the center’s intervention.
