In the wake of Summer holidays, the biggest entertainment people will happy about is none other than cinema. That’s in the blood and genes of Telugu people who are known for their patronage of silver screen treats.
Apparently, the gamble of cinema is getting bigger now. Already Ram Charan’s Ragnasthalam became a rage at the box office and the film might end up collecting more than 200 crores with already 150+ crores gross up its sleeve. And if the likes of Mahesh’s Bharat Anu Nenu and Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya also repeat the same feat, then 400 more crores of money will be spent by the audiences. That’s nearly a 600 crore spending from the Telugu audiences.
If we add other films like Krishnarjuna Yuddham, Achari America Yaatra, Mahanati, Mehbooba, Raju Gadu, Nela Ticket, Taxiwala and Officer, these films are likely to collect around 250 crores gross if all goes well. Even if the expectations go for a toss, Telugu audiences are likely to spend around 700 crores of gross easily to entertain themselves with movies.
Definitely, this is what holidays do to them and Telugu audiences always love to spend for films. But the onus lies on filmmakers to deliver some good films with entertaining content such that they will not get disappointed. As Rangasthalam started with a bang, hope others follow.
