The Congress is all set to shock BJP in Rajasthan, which is being ruled by the Saffroan party. In the three seats for which the by-polls have been held, the Congress has already won and is leading in the remaining two seats as the counting is in progress.
This is a resounding turnaround by the Congress which lost miserably to BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The result of this by-poll has gained prominence in view of the Assembly elections that are due later this year, in about seven months.
Both BJP and the Congress went full throttle in campaigning but its the latter that is set to clean sweep. This is being touted by political analysts as a massive setback to Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Prime Minister Narendra Modi especially because all the three seats for which the by-poll was conducted, were held by the ruling BJP.
