Reports circulating over the past few days have claimed that legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan would be playing a pivotal role in Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated 14th film, directed by Rahul Sankrityan. However, a source close to the production team has firmly debunked these rumors, stating, “These reports are completely false and baseless. There was never any discussion about Amitabh Bachchan being part of the film. It’s just a figment of someone’s imagination, and we are setting the record straight.”

VD14 promises to be an action-packed period drama set during the British colonial era. The film will feature Vijay Deverakonda in a completely new avatar, showcasing his acting prowess in a role that is expected to elevate his career.

Director Rahul Sankrityan had earlier shared updates on social media, announcing that the set work for VD14 had begun with an auspicious pooja ceremony. “A great tale on colonial history laid its first brick on our 76th Republic Day,” he shared. The film is set against the backdrop of real historical events that took place between 1854 and 1878, focusing on an unspoken chapter of India’s colonial history.

VD14 is being made as a large-scale pan-India project and marks the third collaboration between Mythri Movie Makers and Vijay Deverakonda, following the success of Dear Comrade and Kushi. This film also reunites Vijay Deverakonda with director Rahul Sankrityan after their successful partnership in Taxiwala.
