Court rejected one charge against Jagan

In the gloomy situation around him, the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had a small ray of hope when the CBI court dismissed the criminal breach of trust charge made by the agency on him and his aide Vijaya Sai Reddy under section 409 of the IPC.

The court which admitted the chargesheet in connection with the involvement of the Dalmia Cements company, the court said the section would not be applicable to Jagan and Vijaya Sai Reddy. However this is the only charge the court rejected. Other charges made against Jagan and Vijaya Sai remain.

The court has however not rejected the charges made on the home minister Sabita Indra Reddy, Sri Lakshmi and Raja Gopal under the criminal beach of trust section and section 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Legal experts feel that there would be some relief for Jagan because of rejection of this one charge.

It is also being said that Jagan’s lawyers might move the high court with regard to charges made in the first four chargesheets. They may file petitions in the high court asking for dismissal of the charges made under the section in the four chargesheets. This judgment is viewed as a key turn in the Jagan assets case investigation.
