In the times of pandemic, there are people who attribute everything to God and religion, and those folks are there in almost all the religions. Here comes some ardent Hindutva rightists who say that endorsing Hinduism is the reason why India has not many cases of Coronavirus. Even heroines like Pranitha Subhash are lending their voice for this rhetoric.
They say that Hinduism’s way of Namaste but not handshaking, worshiping animals and being vegan, and other principles that others have laughed at all these days are the ones that are saving people in the times of COVID-19 outbreak.
“Despite the geographical proximity to China, India has very few cases per million of #Covid19. Like it or not, our habits, traditions play an important role in health and hygiene. #Hinduism”, tweeted Pranitha, endorsing the same.
Of course, many do agree that Hinduism is a way of life, but that doesn’t mean other religions don’t have this cleanliness and hygiene related stuff. At the same time, there are those Hindutva agenda centric BJP Ministers who have advised that Cow Urine will kill coronavirus, let’s not forget it.While few people appreciated Pranitha for the share, some people trolled her asking, ‘Why some Hindu girls and women are getting raped by Hindus itself in many cases?’.
As we speak, however, the number of cases in India are going only up but now downward spiral.
