It was only a couple of weeks ago that national leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) met Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the latter’s camp office Pragati Bhavan in Hyderabad and held discussions with him over lunch on the anti-people policies of the Narendra Modi government.
KCR shared his ideas with them on the possibility of an anti-Congress and anti-BJP front at the national level with the support of the Left parties. He told them that the Congress doesn’t have any strength to fight against the BJP.
However, the CPI (M) leaders seem to have differed with KCR and have not believed him. After internal discussions, they have come to the conclusion that KCR’s strategy was only to split the anti-BJP votes.
This was disclosed by Telangana state CPI (M) secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram on Thursday. He said KCR has miserably failed to fight against the BJP.
“Going by his actions, we have realised that KCR’s plan was to help the BJP indirectly by splitting the anti-BJP votes,” he said.
Veerabhadram said KCR’s strategy would be discussed at the all-India CPI (M) conference to be held in Kerala in April. The conference would discuss the formation of an alternative political force in the country.
Stating that it was time all the anti-BJP political parties come together to defeat the Modi-led NDA government, the CPI (M) leader said this unity would not be possible without the Congress party, which is a major political force.
“Even when Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejaswai Yadav met the Telangana chief minister, he, too, made it clear that his party would work with the Congress. KCR should realise that,” he asserted.
