The truncated state of Andhra Pradesh, which is already in deep financial crisis post bifurcation of the state and losing its capital city Hyderabad to Telangana, is now cash-crunch as there is said to be an acute shortage of currency in the state.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has written a high-priority letter to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley seeking Rs 5000 Crore currency as an immediate requirement in order to cope up with the severe shortage.
If reports are anything to go by, most of the ATMs, banks in Andhra Pradesh doesn’t have enough “currency”.
Besides writing a letter to Finance Minister, Chandrababu also spoke to the RBI officials on phone for the speedy dispatch of currency to Andhra Pradesh to address the problem with immediate effect.
