Voicing out their opinion against the injustice meted out to Andhra Pradesh, TDP MPs of AP have protested on Monday against Union Government’s step-motherly treatment to the state. MPs Ram Mohan Naidu, Galla Jayadev, TG Venkatesh, Siva Prasad, Nimmala Kishtappa have participated in the protest outside and inside Parliament today (Feb 5). This is a day after Naidu directed TDP MPs to protest in Parliament. It is despite Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s request to Chandrababu Naidu not to ‘protest’ in parliament and promised to look into all the problems of AP.
Rajnath had earlier called Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday during TDP Parliamentary Party meeting and urged Naidu not to take ‘severe step’. Rajnath has conveyed Naidu that he is calling at the behest of PM Modi. Rajnath has promised to fulfill all the promises made to AP and stated that a possible statement to be made in the floor of the house.
However, Chandrababu too conveyed Rajnath that they have waited so long and have maintained patience for long. Naidu told that the Parliamentary Party has decided to protest inside and outside the Parliament till all the demands are met. Naidu also expressed his angst to Rajnath over ‘injustice’ done to AP in Budget 2018.
Meanwhile, Congress Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramachandra Rao along with the support of Congress MPs marched into well and protested against the government. Rajya Sabha chairman and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu had urged members not to disrupt the functioning of Rajya Sabha. Yet, KVP and Congress MPs didn’t pay heed to Venkaiah and continued their protest. With no other option left, Venkaiah has adjourned the Rajya Sabha.
