Since its inception Government run channel Doordarshan has been facing stringent criticism that it airs only pro Govt stories and dance according to the tunes of their masters. Even after Prasar Bharati bill, the scene looked pretty much similar.
According to the latest DD Gujarat official was shunted to Andamans after Gujarat Channel aired story on Prime Minister Modi’s estranged wife Jashoben. It is a different story though the same clipping was aired by all national channels couple of days earlier.
DD Gujarat carried out news item on Jashoben sought details of her entitlements as PM’s wife by filing an RTI petition.
58 year old official VM.Vanol, who was responsible for the less than two minute clip shown on DD Girnar on Jan 1st, was transferred to Andamans in the second week of January, even though he was all set to retire in over a year.
I& B ministry didnot answer the questions put by many media officials.
