At a time when Telugu filmmakers are looking out to rope in yesteryear actresses, who still look beautiful, to play the roles of mothers and aunties of star heroes and heroines, makers of megastar Chiranjeevi’s 150th film have roped in a de-glam mother.
Just like the struggle to choose a story, heroine and villain for this project, makers went through a rigorous hunt to choose the actors to play Chiru’s mother and father in the film. Finally, veteran actress Annapurna, who was the synonym of ‘mother’ characters in the past, has been roped in. Considering Chiru’s age, roping in a top veteran actress to play his mother was a herculean task anyway, so makers have zeroed in Annapurna.
Chalapathi Rao will play Chiru’s father. Scenes involving Annapurna and Chalapathi Rao will be canned in the new schedule. The two will be seen as the parents of a younger character of Chiru.
