On Valentine’s Day, the teaser for “Dear Uma,” a promising Telugu love story, was released, captivating audiences with its emotional depth. Written and directed by Sai Rajesh Mahadev, the film stars Pruthvi Ambaar (“Dia”) and Sumaya Reddy in the lead roles. Notably, Reddy not only portrays the female lead but also penned the story and took on the role of producer through her banner, “Suma Chitra Arts.” Nagesh serves as the line producer.
The teaser opens with an introduction to the male protagonist, an aspiring rockstar facing constant rejection. The line, “Naa Life Lo Prathi Di Get Out Situation Ye…” (“Every opportunity in my life ends with a ‘Get Out!'”) paints a picture of his struggles. However, hope arrives in the form of love. He expresses his newfound adoration with lines like, “Naa Kanaallo Jeevam Nee Kallu… Naa Naraallo Pravaham Nee Choopu…” (“You are the breath in my eyes, the flow in my veins”). The female lead reciprocates these feelings, stating, “Prema Anedi Anirvachaneeyamaina Nirvachanam…” (“Love is an indescribable choice”).
But the teaser hints at heartbreak looming, with the protagonist experiencing love failure. The closing dialogue reflects his pain: “Abbayila Premalo Swardham Untundi… Ammayila Swardhamlone Prema Untundi… Ammayiliche Shock Laki Abbayilakide Medicine…” (“Boys have pride in love, girls have love in their pride, but when a girl experiences shock, what medicine is there for a boy?”.
