The Telangana government has extended the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards to celebrate a decade of cinematic excellence, honoring films released from June 2, 2014, to December 31, 2023. Veteran actor and jury chairman Murali Mohan, along with TFDC Chairman and producer Dil Raju, revealed the list of winners during a press conference. They shared that the jury reviewed all Censor Board-certified films from the day Telangana was formed. For each year, three standout films were selected, showcasing the evolving landscape of Telugu cinema over the past ten years.
In addition to recognizing top feature films, the jury presented six special honors to individuals who made remarkable contributions to the industry. A notable mention was the posthumous Special Jury Award given to revolutionary poet Prajakavi Kaloji Narayana Rao for his cultural impact and legacy.
The award-winning films include Run Raja Run, Rudramadevi, Baahubali: The Conclusion, Mahanati, RRR, Sita Ramam, Balagam, and others that defined Telugu cinema during their respective years. Special awards were also announced for iconic industry figures such as Nandamuri Balakrishna, Mani Ratnam, Sukumar, Atluri Purna Chandra Rao, Vijay Deverakonda, and Yandamuri Veerendranath.
The grand award ceremony honoring the past 11 years of Telugu cinema is scheduled to take place on June 14 at Hitex, Hyderabad. This large-scale celebration is set to spotlight the legacy, creativity, and contribution of the Telugu film industry.
