Star actress Deepika Padukone has been making headlines recently, though not entirely for positive reasons. Reports of controversies, exit rumours, and discussions around “high remuneration demands” have been circulating, with speculation about her stepping away from big projects like Spirit and Kalki 2.
However, amid all the noise, one thing remains clear — Deepika is very much a part of Allu Arjun’s Raaka. Directed by Atlee and backed by Sun Pictures, the film is being mounted on a grand pan-India scale and is targeting a Summer 2027 release.
The major talking point now is her remuneration. Deepika is reportedly charging around ₹25 crore for the film, marking her highest paycheck to date. At first glance, this figure appears quite high, especially when compared to actresses like Mrunal Thakur, Sreeleela, and Pooja Hegde, who generally fall in the ₹3–4 crore range.
However, when viewed in the context of the film’s overall economics, the perspective changes. Allu Arjun is said to be commanding nearly ₹250 crore, while director Atlee is reportedly charging around ₹100 crore. In comparison, Deepika’s ₹25 crore fee appears relatively moderate within such a high-budget setup.
Interestingly, Raaka is also expected to feature multiple female leads, with names like Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna, and Janhvi Kapoor being discussed for key roles, according to industry buzz.
Ultimately, Raaka is shaping up to be a massive cinematic venture — driven by a big star, a top director, and a huge budget. In that scale, even seemingly large numbers begin to look quite different.
