Bollywood’s power trio — Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and debutant Suhana Khan — are coming together for the much-anticipated action thriller King. Directed by Siddharth Anand of Pathaan fame, the film has been creating waves ever since it was confirmed in January.
In a surprising twist, Deepika Padukone has been cast in an extended cameo as Suhana Khan’s mother in the film. Set against a gripping action-drama backdrop, King explores an intense father-daughter relationship, with Deepika’s character playing a crucial role in the emotional arc of the story.
“Her role may be brief, but it’s pivotal to the plot,” revealed a source close to the production. This collaboration also marks another milestone in Deepika and Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic on-screen journey — from their debut pairing in Om Shanti Om to hits like Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan, and most recently Jawan, where Deepika portrayed both wife and mother to SRK.
For Suhana Khan, King will be her first theatrical release, following her digital debut with The Archies. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see the real-life father-daughter duo share the screen, with Deepika adding star power and emotional depth to the storyline.
With Siddharth Anand at the helm and a stellar cast in place, King is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Bollywood projects on the horizon.
