Deepika Padukone, now one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema and happily married to Ranveer Singh, had a simpler, more grounded past before fame and fortune found her. A recent revelation from actor and former model Muzammil Ibrahim has brought a nostalgic chapter from Deepika’s early life into the spotlight.
In a candid interview, Muzammil shared that he and Deepika dated for nearly two years during the early stages of their respective careers in Mumbai. Their first meeting happened during a Tommy Hilfiger fashion show, where sparks flew, and Deepika reportedly took the first step to initiate the connection.
He fondly recalled their modest beginnings—casual dates, often riding together in auto-rickshaws through the Mumbai rains, far removed from the glitz and glam associated with Deepika today. He described their bond as simple and sincere, rooted in mutual support while both were focused on building their futures.
Eventually, Muzammil made the decision to part ways, but emphasized that the breakup was amicable and respectful, with no bitterness. He also added that he has no regrets about their past and cherishes the memories. The two remained in touch for some time, until Deepika tied the knot with Ranveer Singh in 2018.
Currently, Deepika is deeply involved in filming the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, considered one of the most ambitious projects of her career to date.
