For NTR fans, Devara 2 has gradually turned into a major question mark. For months, uncertainty loomed over whether the sequel would move forward or be quietly shelved. Now, producer Sudhakar Mikkilineni has finally offered some much-needed clarity.
Speaking at a recent event, Sudhakar confirmed that Devara 2 is planned to go on floors in May 2026, with a 2027 release in mind. This announcement has put to rest, at least for now, widespread rumours about the project being stalled.
However, the continued silence from director Koratala Siva has raised eyebrows. There has been no official statement from him so far, leaving fans guessing about the project’s current status. Adding to the uncertainty is NTR’s packed lineup. His recent release War 2 failed to meet expectations at the box office, making the actor more cautious about his upcoming choices.
At present, NTR is fully focused on his high-profile film with Prashanth Neel, which is expected to release around June. Following that, he also has God of War with Trivikram Srinivas lined up. With two massive projects already in hand, fans are confused about how Devara 2 fits into this tight schedule.
Industry sources suggest that NTR wants to complete and assess the Prashanth Neel film before committing to any further projects. Only after that is he expected to take a final call on Devara 2.
There have also been reports that Koratala Siva is reworking the sequel’s script, addressing the shortcomings of the first part. In the past, rumours claimed that NTR had stepped back multiple times due to a lack of confidence in the script. With the producer now announcing a clear timeline, fans are hopeful that Koratala will soon convince NTR and move the project forward.
Given the strong expectations created by Devara Part 1, the sequel will need far stronger content to live up to the hype. With this latest update, Devara 2 has once again grabbed the spotlight. All eyes are now on Koratala Siva’s next move and on when NTR will finally give his green signal.
