Dhurandhar 2 Telugu Hits, Other South Versions Struggle

The performance of Dhurandhar 2’s dubbed versions across South India has shown a stark contrast in audience reception. While the Telugu version has emerged as a strong performer, the film has struggled to achieve similar success in other regional markets.

The Tamil version managed a moderate ₹10 crore, whereas the Malayalam and Kannada versions significantly underperformed, failing to cross ₹5 crore (nett). Trade experts cite several reasons for this uneven performance.

In the Telugu states, the film resonated well due to effective dubbing and a storyline that appealed strongly to local audiences. However, in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada markets, cultural disconnect and weaker word-of-mouth limited its growth.

Interestingly, the Hindi dubbed version of the film is performing well even in South Indian states, surprising many industry observers. This indicates that audience preferences are evolving, with content and presentation sometimes outweighing language barriers.

Notably, Telugu audiences have embraced Dhurandhar 2 while largely overlooking Ustaad Bhagat Singh, despite it featuring a major star like Pawan Kalyan. This trend underscores the growing importance of content-driven success over star power alone.
