Dil Raju vehemently denied his involvement in the creative work of his films in his recent interactions with the media. But the industry insiders strongly believe that Dil Raju is the one who calls the shots for most of his films. Despite Dil Raju’s denial, there is a strong rumor about Dil Raju ghost-directing his recent film Srinivasa Kalyanam.
Rumors aside, Dil Raju is losing his story judgmental skills thick and fast. He is unable to pick a good script in a longtime. Barring Fidaa which was a brand Sekhar Kammula film, none of Dil Raju’s recent films had a strong script. External factors like timing the releases perfectly had worked in his favor. Mediocre films like Raja The Great and MCA becoming hits made him overconfident which is why he continued to bet on weak scripts.
Things always don’t work in one’s favor without taking good care of script and other essential elements. Both Lover and Srinivasa Kalyanam backfired putting an end to Dil Raju’s success streak. Dil Raju may not have taken part in the production of Lover besides okaying the script, but Srinivasa Kalyanam bears his mark all over. It is high time for him to start bankrolling innovative ideas like Arya and Bommarillu than playing safe with outdated formulaic films.
