Trinadharao Nakkina, the director of the upcoming film Mazaka, recently came under fire for making inappropriate comments during the trailer launch event. He made objectifying remarks about the film’s heroine, Anshu, specifically criticizing her physique in an insensitive manner.
These comments were met with strong disapproval, including from the Telangana Women’s Commission, which condemned the remarks. In response to the backlash, Trinadh posted an apology on social media today.
During the trailer launch, Trinadh compared Anshu’s current appearance to her role in Manmadhudu, stating that she appeared “thin” now and speculating on how difficult it might be for her to manage her body size.
In his apology video, Trinadh expressed regret, saying, “Greetings to everyone, especially women, Anshu garu, and all those hurt by my words. I sincerely apologize. My intention was never to hurt anyone, and I request your forgiveness for the mistake I made, whether knowingly or unknowingly.”
Supporting the apology, lead actor Sundeep Kishan also took to social media, stating, “Yesterday was an unfortunate slip of the tongue by Dir #NakkinaTrinadhRao. It’s a wrong example to set & we should have been cautious to avoid it. Trinadh garu & Team #Mazaka apologize for the poor choice of words to Anshu garu & to all women out there. We are because of you ♥️.”
